November 20, 2025 - Thanks to Solinaru, House of Akage has a second VPS powered with Windows and will have some servers powered on there. At the time of writing this, servers for Counter Strike 1.6 and Quake II are operational. Meanwhile to conserve space for .ZIP packages containing addons, we are migrating the redirects to GitHub only leaving the archive files to be just one copy instead of having multiple copies taking up space. Pages are set to be updated soon. November 12, 2025 - The Navy Seals Quake Deathmatch Server has been updated to use navyseals_ex v0.7a. It is a QoL modification made by your's truly. It is worth mentioning that I've redid the progs.dat of the Quake server to be based on QuakeWorld's qwprogs.dat, as this server will be the new home for DOSBox Deathmatch Club events following the shutdown of the game servers ran by Drevonor (fka Razorback95) I've also updated the Virtual LAN page to feature a Radmin VPN route. August 20, 2025 - I have updated the Quake deathmatch server and am at work trying to start a No One Lives Forever game server. (for a Deathmatch Club event) What's new? I have removed the quad drop that was bugged for now but I have improved the voting functionality a bit while adding votes between original weapon behaviors and the enhanced wepaon behaviors (Axe does 125 damage, Super Shotgun reloads slower but does damage similar to Doom II's Super Shotgun, and Nailgun/Super Nailgun projectiles are much faster) August 17, 2025 - Awhile back, the House of Akage community was set to use Radmin VPN to host contemporary game servers and even peer-to-peer games to overcome my limitation caused by the ISP, (I got the CGNAT curse) but it proved to limit some people (especially those who run on Linux distros) so I ditched it after awhile. Now the great news is that I have started up a L2TP network via SoftEther VPN. What does that allow you may ask? It carries over the virtual LAN nature that software like Hamachi and Radmin does but not only I have full control thanks to self-hosting but any client can connect to it as long as it supports L2TP out of the box, which should be the case for most Windows and Linux operating systems. (even Mac as well) If you are a vintage computing enthuasiast like myself then the best part is that you can connect to it on your Windows 9x system and play IPX games using (IPX over TCP) software like Kali or Kahn. (All without needing to port forward since it is a virtual LAN after all) I expect to start pushing this out more as time progresses since now not everybody has to install a certain piece of software just to play a game. August 13, 2025 - The server for F.E.A.R. First Encounter Assault Recon is now up and running! This is only using the original game (w/ OpenSpy) instead of FEAR COMBAT to negate having to wait a long while to get a CD key from places like fear-community.org. Instead you can slap in a random but unique CD key. (can be as simple as johndoe69420 as your CD key to join) August 12, 2025 - The Quake Deathmatch Server is now updated! Now with support for Quake Enhanced clients! This also includes voting support too! Skip a level with the 'Rock the vote' feature if needed. (Remember to check out the alias for extras) August 8, 2025 - The VPS hosting the Unreal servers will be undergoing a rebuild! |
